Fujimi Panorama, Japan

SMI Super Polecat Snowmaker at Fujimi, Japan

Located in the Nagano mountain region west of Tokyo, Fujimi Panorama Resort needed reliable snowmaking infrastructure for their most popular 1,000+ meter vertical slope to ensure longer seasons and maintain snow surface quality despite increasingly difficult weather conditions in recent years.

Objective and Solutions

Fujimi Panorama Resort is located in the Nagano mountain region west of Tokyo. Panorama has a successful year-round business, with the winter business a key to its success.

Panorama’s most popular slope covers over 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) of vertical and will add 24 fully automated Super PoleCat Snowtowers along its critical areas. These new Snowtowers will throw the snow across steeper slopes and allow easy and simple opening and resurfacing.

SMI’s local partner is Snow Systems and they are using special vaulted hydrants and tower bases to achieve an excellent package for Panorama.

Snow gun placement and location were methodically planned. This new equipment will help ensure a longer season and the best snow surface ever with the difficult weather over the past few years.
